Memorial to Joseph Warton

John Flaxman's charming memorial to Joseph Warton (1722-1800) commemorates a well-loved headmaster of Winchester College and canon of the cathedral, where he lies buried in the north aisle. He is shown instructing four pupils while Aristotle and Homer preside impassively.
