Saturday 26 November

6.30pm: Advent Procession
A service by candlelight, moving from darkness to light.

Sunday 27 November – Advent Sunday

8am: Holy Communion
10am: Christingle Service for Children’s Church
The Cathedral invites children from school years 1-7, accompanied by family/carer, to the Wessex Learning Centre for registration (9.50am), activities and an Advent children’s service to celebrate the hope in the coming of Jesus Christ. Prayer and collection for the Children’s Society. For further information email

10am: Sung Eucharist
3.30pm: Choral Evensong

Monday 19, Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 December

6.30pm: Cathedral Carol Services
A wonderful service filled with beautiful music sung by the Cathedral Choir. The first service is ticketed, with priority booking for the Cathedral Community, any remaining tickets will be available via the Cathedral box office from 14 November. The second and third service are not ticketed and all are welcome. Each service is followed by a Christmas candlelit supper in The Refectory.
Supper Tickets: £30.95, per person for a three course meal, available from the Cathedral Box Office soon.

Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 December

3.30pm: A Christmas Celebration – Family Carol Services
Family-friendly afternoon carol services. Visitors to the Cathedral’s Christmas Market and Ice Rink are especially welcome. Congregational carols led by the Cathedral Choir.
4.30pm: Said evening prayer

Saturday 24 December – Christmas Eve

11am and 3pm: Family Service
Children are encouraged to dress as characters from the Christmas story and for those that wish, join together at the front of the nave during the service.
5.30pm: Choral Evensong and Blessing of the Crib
11.30pm: Midnight Eucharist

Sunday 25 December – Christmas Day

8am: Holy Communion
10am: Choral Mattins
11.15am: Sung Eucharist
3.30pm: Choral Evensong
