Volume 1 includes the settings of the evening canticles in B flat, A, F and E flat, and the three Latin motets (op. 38).

Thomas Tallis: Spem in alium
Thomas Tallis (1505-85) is one of the giants of English church music and this CD includes some of his most intimate works as well as the sublime Lamentations of Jeremiah. The highlight of this recording is the famous 40-part motet Spem in alium, which scholars believe was written for the fortieth birthday of Mary Tudor or Elizabeth I.
