Visitor's Centre

The Visitor's CentreWith its excellent shop and award-winning restaurant, our Visitor Centre is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm every day (refectory until 5pm).

The Visitors' Centre is only about 25 metres from the magnificent West Front of Winchester Cathedral. Set behind a medieval flint wall, the restaurant and meeting rooms provide a private and tranquil venue for all occasions.

Through the timber door and beyond the converted Coach House (now the Cathedral Shop) lies the award-winning restaurant, The Cathedral Refectory, a delightful open air terrace and the new Paul Woodhouse Suite. There is a unique view back to the towering West Front and the statue of the patron Saint Swithun. Within the normal working day the Paul Woodhouse Suite can be reserved for your exclusive use. For evening functions and meetings the Refectory and terrace also become available to offer great flexibility and privacy.

The Queen opening The Visitor's CentreThe Visitor's Centre was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in November 1993.

Please see our Catering and Hospitality section for further details.
