The Right Reverend Tim Dakin, Bishop of Winchester, has today announced the release of 1,000 tickets for a special Beacon event taking place at Winchester Cathedral on Sunday 20th May 2018.

This event will be the culmination of a ‘wave of prayer’ which will be taking place across the country from 10th-20th May, part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’, an opportunity for Christians from across the world to sign up and join in prayer for the nine days between the Christian feasts of Ascension and Pentecost.

Christians of all denominations across the Diocese of Winchester will be taking part in this celebration of faith and prayer, which is taking place for the third time this year. The Beacon event at Winchester Cathedral, one of 37 taking place in cathedrals across the UK, will once again bring together thousands of Christians in prayer

Launching the release of the tickets, Bishop Tim said:

“At Pentecost we call on God to send his Holy Spirit so those who follow Jesus Christ speak about the powerful works of God. The Beacon Cathedral service welcomes all Christians from every church who have been praying for God’s Kingdom to come to a celebration of praise and worship. I look forward to welcoming people from across the region.”
