Come for an afternoon of musical fun!

Saturday 11th November from 2:15pm-6:30pm

This free afternoon event is open to any boy in Year 3 (aged 7 or 8) who would like to learn more about life as a Chorister at Winchester Cathedral.

As part of the event, you will spend the afternoon singing with the Cathedral’s Music Director, try on a cassock and sing Evensong (at 5.30pm in the Cathedral) with the current choristers.

Parents are warmly invited to join the Cathedral Music Department for refreshments throughout the afternoon where you will be able to learn more about the Choristers’ unique opportunities and meet the team who take great care of them at The Pilgrims’ School.

Note that boys need to obtain a place at The Pilgrims’ School to be a Chorister.

Timings of the event: 
Registration at 2.15pm, introduction talks will take place at The Pilgrims’ School followed by a singing rehearsal.

Following this, the group will move to Winchester Cathedral for a discovery tour and tea, completing the event with Evensong at which visiting prospective choristers will join the Boy Choristers and Lay Clerks to sing the anthem.

Please note, all boys attending must be accompanied by an adult for the afternoon.

Auditions to become a chorister will take place early 2024.
