A free event for boys in school years 2-6¬†to experience what life could be like as a Cathedral Chorister.
Boys attending will:
Learn how to play percussion, sing with a choir, take part in a concert and have fun acting and singing in a performance workshop.
- Find out what happens in a choral audition.
- Play sport, make a chorister medal, meet new friends -unleash that musical talent!
- Sing with the world famous Winchester Cathedral Choristers and Winchester College Quiristers.
9am - 12 noon
Enjoy fun performance activities - percussion playing, group singing, drama workshop and take part in an informal concert. There will also be time for sport and exploring the adventure playground.
Informal Auditions from 12.30pm
Boys can take part in an informal audition and find out if they could be a chorister. Boys will make a chorister medal whilst waiting for their audition.
1.45pm - 5pm
Spend the afternoon with the Choristers. Join choir practice, enjoy games and the adventure playground, and perform in an informal concert in the Cathedral.
5.30pm - 6.10pm
Boys will get the rare opportunity to sing the anthem with the Cathedral Choir.
Information for Parents
Parents are welcome to stay and observe the workshops. Alternatively, tours will be available of the Cathedral and School. There will be an opportunity to meet chorister parents and find out what life is like with a chorister!
Tea will be provided before Evensong for participating families and lunch will be provided for boys attending the full day's activities.
