Brahms A German Requiem op. 45

This year's Festival sees a return of the opening concert on a grand scale, making use of local forces together with performers from beyond Winchester, the opening event underlining what the Festival aims to bring about. The Cathedral will resound to the Waynflete Singers, supported by the English Chamber Orchestra, in Brahms' ever-popular German Requiem, a work of great beauty and consolation. With two vocal soloists of international renown and experience, the concert will be under the guidance of the Cathedral's own Director of Music.
