Convivando esta la noche: Adventures through the Iberian World

Winchester Cathedral Chamber Choir
George Castle
Joseph Ingle guitar

Winchester Cathedral Chamber Choir, making its debut at the Festival, presents a concert of Iberian-themed choral music. Featuring guitarist Joseph Ingle, the programme includes 20th Century Spanish composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Romancero Gitano, with its settings of poems by Lorca evoking the landscapes, people and culture of Andalucia. Alongside this will be masterpieces by composers from Spain and Portugal, and music that emerged from their New World colonies in the 16th and 17th Centuries, fusing the culmination of late Renaissance European music with indigenous and Creole influences.

Pre-concert drinks in the Dean Garnier Garden at 7.15pm followed by the concert at 8.00pm in the Cathedral Quire. Please note that access to The Dean Garnier Garden is via a short flight of steps.
