Christmas at Winchester Cathedral

Advent and Christmas  is a special time at Winchester Cathedral. We have been welcoming worshippers for over 900 years and our Advent and Christmas services are especially popular.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our Advent and Christmas services. To help you plan your visit we have included our special services below:

Saturday 30 November, 6.30pm
ADVENT PROCESSION
A service of seasonal readings and music by candlelight, moving from darkness to light.

Sunday 8 and Sunday 15 December, 3.30pm
FAMILY CAROL SERVICE
Family-friendly carol services, especially for those visiting Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market. Rest your weary legs and enjoy traditional carols in the spectacular setting of the Cathedral Nave.

Tuesday 17 December, Wednesday 18 December & Friday 20 December, 6.30pm
CATHEDRAL CAROL SERVICES
Wonderful services filled with beautiful music sung by the Cathedral Choir. The first service is ticketed with priority booking for the Cathedral Community. The second and third services are not ticketed and all are welcome. Each service is followed by a candlelit supper in The Refectory, with tickets available from the Cathedral Box Office closer to the time.

Tuesday 24 December
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES 
11.00am & 3.00pm – Dress Up Nativity Services
5.30pm – Carols with Blessing of the Crib
11.30pm – Midnight Eucharist

Wednesday 25 December
CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICES 
8.00am – Holy Communion
10.00am – Festal Mattins
11.15am – Festal Sung Eucharist
3.30pm – Evensong with Procession to the Christmas Tree
