Sashiko is a traditional Japanese hand-stitching technique, originally used to mend and reinforce worn clothing.  The results are beautiful, visible and intentional. No sewing machine required. Suitable for complete beginners.

 

What to bring?

  • A denim or woven cotton item to mend or decorate.
  • A jacket, jeans, a shirt, or anything that needs a new lease of life.
  • Best suited to 100% cotton denim.

We will have practice fabric available for those who prefer to learn on sample cloth first.
