Winchester Cathedral costs approximately £14,000 a day to run, and your admission fee plays a vital role in supporting its future. With no government or Church of England funding, we rely on visitor income to help care for and preserve this extraordinary building for generations to come.
As a working cathedral, areas may occasionally be closed during your visit due to services or essential conservation work. We appreciate your understanding that refunds or discounts cannot be offered in these circumstances.

We are also a dog‑friendly cathedral. Well‑behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but must not be left unattended and are not permitted at services, events, or inside the café.
Your ticket is valid from the cathedral’s opening time on your chosen day, you do not need to arrive at a specific time.
