Lazer Mazes and Spider Webs workshop

Join the team from Winchester Science Centre for a laser maze challenge or a chance to express your creativity! Running from 12.30pm – 2.00pm.

You can either test your problem-solving skills by tackling the laser maze game, with up to 40 levels of increasing difficulty!

Alternatively, express your creative side by weaving spider webs or making your own drawings. Take inspiration by looking at the cathedral around you, or even draw the moon!

You will not need to book a space to attend this drop in session but you will need a valid general admission ticket. You can buy your ticket in advance or upon arrival to the cathedral. General admission tickets grant you access to the cathedral for 12 months, visit as often as you like and explore the Kings and Scribes exhibition.

Sold Out - Epic astronomical adventures

Epic astronomical adventures has now sold out.

Let’s discover starlight secrets on this epic astronomical adventure. Young astro-engineers will experiment to see how to direct and deflect light in space. Wow!

Have you heard all about the James Webb Telescope? In Destination Space, you’ll get an introduction to this amazing piece of space technology.

Let’s also explore the properties of light. We’ll start with the visible spectrum before moving to infrared and heat exchange. And what happens if we use diffraction to break light into its constituent parts? Let’s find out!

Location

These workshops are taking place in the North Transept which is inside the cathedral. When you arrive, our helpful welcome desk team can direct you. You’ll have the opportunity to see the Museum of the Moon artwork by artist Luke Jerram hanging in the nave of the cathedral upon entry (pictured below).

Important information

Please read before attending

Children must be accompanied by an adult – there is a limit of 3 children per adult.
No steps are required to access the North Transept. There is a ramp to enter/exit the cathedral, and then everything is on one level.
There will be a designated area to park buggys/pushchairs in the corner of the North Transept.
There will be accessible toilets available in close proxmity.
