Meet the Team
Emma Bourner
Following participating in the Cathedral Crescendo singing event with my own school’s choir, I knew immediately this was a special place to work. In 2020, I came to work in the Learning Team following 20 years in school teaching. Working with different people every day from those under 4 to those over 18 offers us variety on a daily basis. I know how lucky we are to work in such beautiful surroundings – not just in the Cathedral itself but right across the Cathedral estate. We look forward to welcoming you soon to experience what we have to offer.

Coming from an arts and heritage background it is a privilege to work in this beautiful and sacred place. With over a thousand years of human history and nestled in private green spaces, there really is something here for everyone, of any faith and none. There are so many opportunities for me to be creative in designing and delivering workshops for different audiences on a variety of subjects that no two days are the same!
Hear from our Learning Volunteers…
I feel very strongly that the Cathedral should be a place of wonder and welcome for all: through volunteering with the Learning Team I hope to share knowledge and understanding about this unique site with younger visitors – the Cathedral’s own future depends upon future generations’ active interest.Helen
I consider it a great privilege to be able to communicate what I know about our wonderful cathedral to them. One thing is certain I get as much from it as the students. Another aspect I like is working with other children’s guides and most of all Emma and Aisha.Philip
