Visitors may have noticed several large red cubes appear on the grass in the Cathedral’s Inner Close this week. Whilst they may look unusual, these are temporary water weights that are playing an important role in preparations for the Home & Garden Festival, part of the Wild! Festival of Flowers & Nature, which takes place from 15 to 19 September.

Water weights appear as part of Wild! Home & Garden preparations
Using water weights provides a practical and environmentally conscious solution, as the water will be recycled and reused around the Cathedral grounds once the festival has finished.
As preparations continue, the Cathedral team is working hard behind the scenes to transform the site into a spectacular celebration of flowers, gardens, wildlife and nature. Visitors may continue to notice temporary installations and equipment around the precinct as the event build progresses.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to experience Wild! this September and discover five days of inspiring floral displays, garden exhibits, talks, workshops and activities.
