Winchester Cathedral is pleased to announce ARC Fire Safety and Security have renewed their partnership

We welcome our partners here year-round to catch up and attend cathedral events. It was a pleasure to see the John and Andy with their partners once again at Decembers carol service and to catch up with them at our last partners breakfast.

Their connection with Winchester Cathedral pre dates our partnership programme. Officially formed in 2002 ARC have provided Winchester Cathedral with fire alarm service support and collaborative design solutions ever since. However, their connection with the cathedral goes back even further when CEO and founder – Alan Simpson, provided fire alarm service support through a previous fire alarm company.

“It is massively important to us to be part of the ongoing support at sites with so much importance to our heritage and we are rightly proud to call ourselves a Winchester Cathedral Corporate Partner”

John Pearman, Commercial Director and Andy Burridge Managing Director pictured above with Director of Development Alasdair Akass.

Thank you to all the businesses that currently support us in partnership or as sponsors. Our next partners breakfast will take place in March, to join us please contact clare.lean@winchestercathedral.org.uk Winchester Cathedral Corporate Partnership Manager.

Potential disruption to your visit, January 2026

Capital works at Winchester Cathedral

As part of the essential works taking place, the toilets at Winchester Cathedral will be out of order for necessary maintenance from 5 to 29 January, with the nearest toilets in nearby Market Lane.

The refurbishment work is an essential part of caring for our buildings and making them as safe, comfortable, and practical for our visitors as we can.

From 5 – 23 January scaffolding will be in place in the nave, and there will be high levels of noise disruption on 6, 7, 13, 22 and 23 January. On these dates, there will be no guided tours.

The best way to support Winchester Cathedral is to buy an annual pass. For just £14, you can visit as many times as you like, and to experience our exhibitions including Luke Jerram’s Helios in January and February, plus get an update on our treasured mortuary chests which have been the subject of decades of mystery and research.

Entry to the Cathedral for worship is always free.
