In the first year of our partnership, Winchester Heights Care Home and Winchester Cathedral have shared some truly special moments. Residents from Winchester Heights were warmly welcomed to the Cathedral, where they enjoyed unforgettable experiences — from whale-watching excursions to attending dementia-friendly services. 

In return, they invited Eleanor Swire and Clare Lean from the Cathedral, to visit the care home. Eleanor gave an inspiring talk about the hidden treasures of the Cathedral — much to the delight of all and especially one resident who formerly helped Eleanor as a volunteer in the Morley Library. 

Following a visit where they met volunteer Maria as a gesture of gratitude during Volunteer’s Week, they invited the Holly Dusters, for a special afternoon tea, celebrating their invaluable contributions.
