Winchester Cathedral was delighted to welcome 15 girls to experience what it’s like to be members of the girls’ choir at an annual ‘Be a Chorister’ open event in January.
The girls enjoyed singing workshops, listened to the organ, had cake, tried on cassocks, and sang with the existing girl choristers and Lay Clerks for Evensong on Saturday 24th January.
“Being a chorister is wonderful. We sing together three times a week, building strong friendships along the way,” said one existing chorister.
“We support and encourage each other in every rehearsal and service, we sing some of the most beautiful music ever written in a building where people have been singing for nearly 1,000 years,” said another.
If you missed this event and are interested in becoming a girl chorister, get in touch to book your audition on Saturday 21st March.
