This year, young choristers from Winchester Cathedral were invited to help name the two peregrine chicks that hatched in late April 2022.

The male chick and female chick are the brood of Winnie and William, the later being named after William Walker MVO, the English diver famous for shoring up the southern and eastern sides of Winchester Cathedral.

To ensure monikers with a legacy as worthy as their parents, the young choristers were asked to vote by poll on what they think the chicks should be called.
