Winchester Green Week is a week of events for everyone, organised by local communities, environmental groups, educational institutions, faith groups, local authorities and businesses in the Winchester District.
Caring for creation is one of the most important elements of the Cathedral’s mission, but the task is not simple. Biodiversity needs to be worked at; we have to fight against our instincts to acquire; we need to cater without waste; we need to be aware of the history and politics of the land; and we need to keep working and hoping for justice.
All are welcome to attend the cathedral’s Green Week service which will explore the theme Peace for Creation.
The service will take place in the Nave of Winchester Cathedral, centered around an interactive installation created by the gardeners of Winchester Cathedral, inspired by the theme Peace for Creation.
You’ll enjoy beautiful music from the Winchester Cathedral Girl Choristers, Canon Andrew Micklefield will deliver a thought-provoking sermon and you’ll also hear from community groups around Winchester that are involved in peace and climate action.
A sustainable future can be created by all of us growing greener together.
