Looking for something fun and affordable to do with the kids this May half-term? Winchester Cathedral offers a week of family-friendly activities right on your doorstep, perfect for keeping little ones busy and entertained.

From Saturday 24th May to Saturday 1st June, local families can enjoy hands-on discovery trails, sweeping tower tours, and the chance to explore one of Winchester’s most historic buildings together.

What’s on for families: 

Children’s discovery trail – collect a trail sheet from the Welcome Desk and follow a fun route through the cathedral, spotting quirky details and learning fascinating facts along the way. 

King and Scribes exhibition – taking place over three floors, this interactive exhibition welcomes young adventurers to explore 3D objects and discover Winchester’s royal history.  

Cathedral tower tours* – ideal for older children and teens, these guided tours offer stunning views across the city. Advance booking is recommended. 

All activities* are included with an annual pass, and children under 11 go free with a paying adult. Local residents with a cathedral annual pass can enjoy free entry for 12 months. *Tower tours are priced separately.
