You can find the Cathedral Café sheltered behind an ancient flint wall opposite the Cathedral. Its award-winning contemporary design, large terrace with Cathedral views and pretty walled garden make it a great place to meet friends for a coffee, lunch or afternoon tea.
Complete with soft banquette-style seating, as well as tables and chairs in the courtyard, the menus to showcase fresh, local ingredients prepared by a talented chef.

Situated beyond the Cathedral Gift Shop, the Café offers a quiet location. Its wide glassed front looks onto a spacious slate paved terrace with café tables, chairs and parasols, sheltered by ancient flint and brick walls and a shady fig tree. Behind the refectory is a peaceful walled garden – a green space with lawns, picnic tables and a fine willow tree.
The Café and terrace are both fully accessible, with toilet facilities in the building.
Companion dogs and guide dogs are permitted inside the Café and all dogs are welcome in the courtyard area.
The light and airy Refectory offers a fully stocked licensed bar, plenty of space for dancing, a pretty walled garden patio and amazing cathedral views. Working together to wage a war on food waste.
Each day, there will be a ‘Waste Knot’ soup available in the Cafe at lunchtime, made using surplus vegetables.
The North Transept accessibility lift is currently out of service. Due to concert staging, ramp access cannot be provided, so wheelchair access to the East End will not be available until the evening of Saturday 28 March. From then, access will be via ramp until repairs to the platform lift are complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
