Winchester Cathedral is participating in Heritage Open Days!
This tour of Winchester Cathedral will explore how the British Empire was presented in the art and language of memorials during the 19th century. Visitors will be introduced to a range of notable types of memorial from the period and reflect on what we can understand about the British Empire from what we can see in the Cathedral. The tour, which will last between 45-60 minutes, will be followed by a 45-minute workshop with refreshments, to give visitors a chance to discuss the tour and ask questions.

There are two sessions. Session 1 : 10.00am-12.00pm; Session 2 : 1.00pm – 3.00pm.

Please wait outside the front of the Cathedral opposite the War Memorial and a member of the team will meet you there.

Please provide your name and the names of anyone attending with you. Spaces can be transferred with notice up to 48 hours in advance. Please wear comfortable walking shoes for the tour and notify us in your booking whether you have any access needs of which we should be aware.
